{What is the difference between a studio or in home newborn session??}-Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer

We offer in-studio and in-home lifestyle newborn sessions and a very popular question we receive is “What’s the difference?”

Here we outline the main differences in our studio and in-home newborn sessions!

Studio newborn sessions are completely styled sessions offered in both a traditional 2 hour or mini 1 hour session. Clients can bring their own accessories but it is not necessary! Our studio has a full stock of props and accessories for our clients to use!  The newborn session is usually scheduled within babies’ first two weeks of life – though we have photographed older newborns so if baby is older, don’t hesitate to contact us! Our studio offers a traditional studio space for posed newborn and family shots as well as 5 unique lifestyle rooms for naturally-lit newborn photographs and more intimate family shots!

In-home Lifestyle Sessions are available with our traditional 2 hour newborn session! These sessions use the natural light in your home for most of the session with typical spots such as the master bedroom, nursery, living room, outside on the porch if there is nice weather, etc. Usually I bring a wrap or small accessories for a more styled setup for the end of the shoot, and parents and siblings are involved in the majority of the photoshoot! These sessions are usually scheduled within babies first month of life! Since they aren’t posed as much as studio sessions, baby can absolutely be a little older!
